چکیده

Polyether ether ketone (PEEK) is a biocompatible alternative to metallic biomaterials because of its unique properties and biocompatibility. Its bioinert nature may lead implant failure from inadequate osseointegration. Therefore, this research aims develop the nSiO2 ceramic particle-reinforced PEEK (nSiO2@PEEK) polymer nanocomposite. The particle size nanoparticles was measured as 43.6 nm using analyzer (PSA). morphology fabricated composite analyzed FESEM. structural characteristic nSiO2@PEEK investigated XRD FTIR. Thermal stability examined TGA thermograms DSC curves. Minimum toxic level (grade: slight, 1–20%) observed by in vitro cytotoxicity assessment direct indirect methods. Excellent cell viability found 83.6% through MTT assay. MG-63 adhesion study conducted subsequently excellent growth were monitored SEM analysis. This investigation nanocomposite be biocompatible. It promising biomaterial for medical implants.

Mechanical properties of CNT reinforced nano-cellular polymeric nanocomposite foams

Mechanics of CNT-reinforced nano-cellular PMMA nanocomposites are investigated using coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulations. Firstly, static uniaxial stretching of bulk PMMA polymer is simulated and the results are compared with literature. Then, nano-cellular foams with different relative densities are constructed and subjected to static uniaxial stretching and obtained stress-strain cu...

Tensile and Morphological Properties of Microcellular Polymeric Nanocomposite Foams Reinforced with Multi-walled Carbon Nanotubes

Polyamide 6 (PA6) is used in many applications due to its advantages and improving its properties seems essential. For this purpose in the present study, PA6 was melt compounded with various multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) contents and then was foamed using Azodi carbon amide (ACA) as blowing agent under different injection molding conditions. Morphological properties were investigated u...

Mechanical Property Characterization of a Polymeric Nanocomposite Reinforced by Graphitic Nanofibers with Reactive Linkers

Mechanical property characterization including bending, tensile, and fracture properties for a new functionalized nanofiber/epoxy composite were conducted. Results show that there was only very little increase in mechanical properties of nanocomposites although we used GCNF-ODA reactive linkers to improve the interface. The interfacial stress level of nanocomposites should be much higher than t...

Experimental Investigation of Mechanical and Thermal Properties of Silica Nanoparticle-Reinforced Poly(acrylamide) Nanocomposite Hydrogels

Current studies investigating properties of nanoparticle-reinforced polymers have shown that nanocomposites often exhibit improved properties compared to neat polymers. However, over two decades of research, using both experimental studies and modeling analyses, has not fully elucidated the mechanistic underpinnings behind these enhancements. Moreover, few studies have focused on developing an ...
